The Author
Derk Cools was born in 1939 in Den Haag / The Haque, the Netherlands. He got his degree in social geography and economics at the University of Utrecht(1958). As a civil servant with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, he developed expertise in regional (economic) planning at home and abroad. Red Socks
Does it matter if Epicurus wears red socks? It's not a historical question nor a matter of sports. Are the socks made of wool? Is it a question for these sheep? Philosophy concerns unanswerable questions. So, this is a philosophical question?

The bicycle of my Aunt
My aunt loved her bicycle and the bicycle loved my aunt. They were a couple on wheels for years. Friendship was her front wheel, common sense the second wheel.
