Traveling and Writing
This website is about traveling and writing. Being on the move and being emotionally moved. Two different but interconnected things. Spotting places and losing your heart. Temples, pyramids, cities and ruins, forests and mountains, valleys and rivers, volcanoes and lakes, daily life in the streets, the world as habitat for writing.

Venice, still a dream

Somebody follows me. I hear footsteps louder and faster. All of a sudden, I stand at the edge of a canal. Behind me the alley, narrow and dark, in front

of me the slowly moving floor of water. There is no way out.  The dream stands behind me and pushes me into the canal. I wake up. Venice, still Venice that follows me into the night and my sleep.

Venice (Veneto), one shot

In the heart of Venice, San Marco Square. At the exit of the cathedral a beggar. A man or a woman? A pilgrim or a modern slave? Human trafficking? It's raining. She falls on her knees. I hear a deep voice, a sound. An elegy? Look at her shining rain coat. And see her sportive shoes. What about your headache and the pain in your back? What about this world? Tourism as a sort of theater.
